We’re signing the paperwork next week, but it looks like everything is going through with the sale of our current house and the new house. We are thrilled! Once we move in, I’ll post some pics of the new place.

We’ve had quite a bit of snow here! And for the first time since we started working at Penn, the University closed -for two days!! It’s been wonderful to have some extra time to catch up on things and relax. Below are some pictures of the snow & Chloe’s adventures in it.

In house news, we received an offer! We’ve countered and they accepted. So it’s not yet official, but hopefully later this week we will know whether to start packing. Looks like we may move out in early March and move in in late March or early April. Whee!

we’re selling our house!

We are excited to announce that upon the sale of our house, we are moving back to West Philly! An opportunity came along to buy a house on the same block where we used to rent – 42nd and Pine Street. We are thrilled at the idea of walking to work again, as well as the close proximity to a great public school. We’ll also take advantage of the weekly farmer’s market (during the warmer months) which is about 2 blocks away.

Although we are excited, we will miss many things about Mt Airy. We have awesome neighbors and a lovely street. We have a great co-op, chiropractor and dentist. Plus, we’ve done a lot of work to our house and it’s an ideal size for us. So hopefully someone can appreciate and enjoy the Phil Ellena house, as we have. If you know anyone who is interested in buying, here are the details as well as pictures!!

Christmas 2009

We spent two weekends in a row in Lancaster and had such a good time with friends and family. First, we had Wayne’s Christmas Village 2009 and then a surprise birthday party for Mom (Nancy). It was a chocolate theme. Then we came back the next weekend for Christmas, games, movies, etc. It was great to have all the siblings together, plus we got to meet Nathan’s girlfriend, Huong. Thanksgiving 2009

We had the privilege of getting together with both sides of our family last month for Thanksgiving. First we spent some time with the Roth & Nyces and then the immediate and extended Brubakers. Last weekend David and I took a whirlwind trip to Iowa. The main occasion was the wedding of Deb and Judy (Deb is David’s aunt). The wedding was in Kalona on some family property in a beautiful clearing in the woods. It was lovely to celebrate with friends and family.
