hawaii - part II

Time for pictures from week two.

beach-small.jpgKauai was definitely our favorite island. Fewer people, a little less touristy and lusher. We spent the first three days on the south side of the island at a B&B called Poipu Plantation (as recommended by David’s uncle and aunt, Lynn and Debbie). During this time we explored and hiked in Waimea canyon and relaxed on the beach nearby. David even found a game of ultimate frisbee with some students from Bethel College on choir tour!

The second half of the week we spent in Hanalai on the north shore, about a block away from the beach which is part of a gorgeous bay. And the best part of our trip was an amazing hike along the coastline. We hiked for two miles with water crashing far below and then turned inland for two miles to a pretty sweet waterfall. It felt like we were in a botanical gardens with lush sights and smells, but not too many bugs.

All in all it was a very relaxing and successful trip. Besides the weather and the hike mentioned above, my favorite thing was the sunsets. They were so lovely again and again.

Wow, what great photos! I’m glad I could get a little tour this way! Also, there are several of you two that I really love … for example, could you maybe send me #39 (Polihale Beach 39) so I could get a copy printed out at costco or someplace??

Thanks for taking the time to share these wonderful photos!

You’re just going to have to leave these pictures up forever because what could top that? I am glad you were able to go. I enjoyed it too. (tho not as much as you). Was Chloe glad to be home or was she unfazed?

Cyn,

She was definitely weirded out the first night, but I think she remembers everything. She’s now eating three meals a day and still hungry most of the time. I think I need to get her checked.
